NASCAR fans are unlikely to see Greg Biffle back behind the wheel in next year's season-opening Daytona 500 at the Daytona International Speedway. While the 19-time Cup Series winner knows there are potential options for him, he said in a recent interview that he doesn't expect to try and enter the 200-lap event to kick off the season.

Despite not having anything planned, the former driver of the #16 Roush Fenway Racing machine said in an interview via the Let's Go Racing with David Starr podcast that he would like to run another Daytona 500. Yet, with the race just a few months away, Biffle doesn't expect to find a ride in time.

“I don’t have anything in the works right now, so I would say Daytona in February is probably slim,” Biffle said. “I definitely will be there. I love that time of the year and Daytona, so I’ll be down there wandering around, but as far as being behind the wheel, it’s probably unlikely."

It might not be in the cards this year, but Biffle is optimistic that if he gets to work on it, an opportunity to run another Daytona 500 will present itself.

“I want to put something together and run another 500 in a good, competitive car," Biffle said. "So I need to get off my bu*t and start working on it and find a good car to drive.”

Biffle last drove full-time in the Cup Series in 2016 for Roush Fenway Racing, where he spent the entirety of his full-time career dating back to 2003. He won 19 races and finished a career-high second in the final points standings in 2005.

Prior to his Cup Series stint, Biffle won championships in the Xfinity Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. In 2019, he returned to the Truck Series driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports, where he won in his first race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Greg Biffle was "honored" to receive the Myers Brothers Award at the 2024 NASCAR Awards

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, which caused major destruction in Western North Carolina last month, Greg Biffle took it upon himself to hop in his personal helicopter and travel around to help victims of the natural disaster. His efforts led him to receive the 2024 NMPA Myers Brothers Award during last weekend's NASCAR Awards ceremony.

Biffle later penned a message via X expressing his feelings about being presented with the award.

"Honored to be named the @NMPAonline 2024 Myers Brothers Award Recipient at the @NASCAR Banquet last night it was such a surprise !! Thank you," Biffle wrote.

On the racetrack, Greg Biffle was an accomplished driver despite never winning a championship or a Daytona 500. The 54-year-old's last win in the Cup Series came at Michigan in 2013.
