Amid the ongoing legal battle of 23XI Racing against NASCAR, Martin Truex Jr.'s plans for the 2025 Daytona 500 race were in limbo. However, a renowned journalist recently claimed that it wouldn't impact the 44-year-old's future ride with Denny Hamlin-owned 23XI.Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass responded to a fan comment on X inquiring about the potential third charter of the NBA icon Michael Jordan's NASCAR team. As reports suggest, 23XI and Front Row Motorsports are set to buy charters from the soon-to-be-defunct Stewart-Haas Racing. Moreover, these Cup teams are also the only teams who haven't signed the newly proposed charter agreement, after filing an antitrust lawsuit for NASCAR's alleged monopolistic practices. As things stand, 23XI Racing can extend their charter entries for the 2025 season, irrespective of chartered or open teams. Moreover, Pockrass hinted that Xfinity Series driver Riley Herbst is the third entry for 23XI. "And from what I can tell, it still is Riley Herbst as the likely driver of the third 23XI car (whether it is open or chartered) ... Truex expected in a fourth car for Daytona 500. He said at Vegas he hasn't been told anything different as far as lawsuit having any impact," Pockrass wrote on X.After over two decades of racing in the Cup Series, the 2017 Cup Series champion Truex Jr. is set to retire from full-time racing at the end of this season.
