Brad Keselowski has been racing in NASCAR for more than 20 years now and has seen significant changes and new tracks in the sport. The NASCAR Cup Series will race at Mexico's Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez track this year, adding to the first international points event in the Cup Series' modern history. The track, which consists of a road course and oval configurations, is set to be a multi-year deal as confirmed by the NASCAR Executive Vice President, Ben Kennedy.
The Mexico City track needs drivers and the teams to acclimatise to the high altitude of the circuit. RFK Racing driver Brad Keselowski recently shared his opinions about the adjustments to be made for the marquee event.
"You know the high altitude is a big factor, as you get to higher altitudes, cars run hotter and don't cool as well. NASCAR wisely opened up some options. We need to get on track to validate the science, but it looks pretty certain that we will go for the high-end package this time, but you know, maybe not. That's why we would practice well." The race in Mexico next week is named the Viva Mexico 250. The Cup Series drivers have shown their excitement for racing at the 2.429-mile track, as most of them will be racing at the iconic venue for the very first time. Brad Keselowski, who has currently had a disappointing season, would hope the luck changes around at the new track. He is set to start the FireKeepers Casino 400 race from 27th on the grid this Sunday before moving to Mexico the next weekend.
Brad Keselowski wishes for peace amid the NASCAR Charter lawsuit
Brad Keselowski recently expressed his views on the ongoing lawsuit between the 23XI Racing team, Front Row Motorsports, and NASCAR over the 2025 Charter Agreement. Denny Hamlin is the co-owner of the 23XI team, but drives for the Joe Gibbs Racing team.
Brad Keselowski currently finds himself in a unique position on the grid as he is the only Cup Series driver who is also the co-owner of the team that he drives for. Thus, Keselowski can provide a unique insight into the lawsuit as both a co-owner and a driver.
"Just wish the whole thing would find a peaceful resolution and the sport could kind of move on. At the end of the day, there’s still a lot to happen. It kind of feels like both sides are just trading these small wins that probably don’t mean anything until the case happens." Brad Keselowski said via Frontstretch
Keselowski also hinted that RFK Racing could be interested if any charters become available and the opportunity arises.
"RFK has a lease agreement currently with Rick Ware Racing for the 2026 season, but certainly we’re keeping our eyes open," Keselowski added
The 41-year-old driver will be in action this weekend for the FireKeepers Casino 400 race at the Michigan International Speedway. The driver currently finds himself ranked 32nd in the Cup Series rankings this season, with hopes of qualifying for the Playoffs diminishing unless he wins a race.
