Jeb Burton shared the footage of his car getting stalled with two laps to go in last Saturday's NASCAR Xfinity Series Missing 200 at Watkins Glen International. Despite running top 8 at the time, Burton's day ended early due to an oil tank failure.

The USA did not cover the incident on TV. Therefore, Burton posted a video on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, which showed his No. 27 Jordan Anderson Racing Chevy getting towed back to the garage. Speaking of the same, Burton wrote:

"How bizarre the 2️⃣7️⃣ running top 8 with two laps to go and we have an oil tank fail. This is what happened since the TV failed to mention it. On to Bristol!"

Burton finished 31st in the 90-lap event, picking up six points and his fourth DNF of the season on the way. As of today, the 32-year-old Halifax, Virginia native, has amassed just one top-10 finish (Talladega) and stands 20th in the driver's standings with 354 points to his name.

Burton will now prepare for the 26th race of the season, i.e., the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on coming Friday, September 20. JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier is the reigning champion at the 0.533-mile short-track oval in Bristol, Tennessee.

Following the 300-lap race, NASCAR will head towards Kansas City to host the series' Round of 12 opener at Kansas Speedway on September 28. CW will provide live coverage of the race from 4 PM ET onwards.

Jeb Burton reflects on his Watkins Glen outing

Despite starting the race 28th, Jeb Burton was well poised to bag his second top-10 win of the season, when he ran out of luck. Visibly frustrated, Burton said in a post-race interview,

"I don't know what to say. Running 6th or 7th on the red flag and the oil tank or something, broke. We're in the garage...my guys did a really good job; we're a little team. Really frustrating. Appreciate everybody for the support and we'll try again next week."

However, this is the first time that Jeb Burton is in a second straight year with a team in his 13 years of driving in NASCAR. Speaking of the support that he has been receiving from his crew chief, spotter, and team owner since he joined in 2023, Burton said in an interview with Jayski from June,

"Mike Herman Jr. (spotter), Shane Whitbeck (crew chief) and Jordan (Anderson), those three guys believe in me and know that I can do it. That’s what I’ve never had before. I’ve always had somebody criticizing what I’m doing. I never felt like people believed in me."

Will Burton be able to honor the faith that his team has in him and live up to their expectations throughout the upcoming races? One can only speculate for now.
