Jimmie Johnson's Legacy Motor Club has struck a one-year deal with Newmar Corporation. The manufacturer of luxury recreational vehicles is a fully-owned subsidiary of Winnebago Industries and has a market capitalization of $1.7 B (as per Forbes).

Johnson retired from Cup Series racing following his P5 finish in the 2020 season finale at the Phoenix Raceway. However, after a two-year hiatus, the seven-time Cup Series champion returned to the sport, albeit as a team owner. He purchased a stake in Maury Gallagher's Petty GMS Motorsports and rebranded it to Legacy Motor Club.

The Statesville-based used a Chevrolet engine when it debuted in the 2022 Daytona 500 but switched to Toyota from the 2024 season onwards. LMC's roster has Erik Jones and John Hunter Nemechek as full-time drivers, while Johnson fields part-time entries in his #84 Toyota.

With sponsorship becoming an integral and primary part of the capital-intensive sport, teams try extensively to strike a deal with the big-pocketed players. Though LMC has numerous sponsors such as Advent Health, Carvana, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Mobil 1, to name a few, the team capitalized on the off-season blues with the new Newmar deal as their official luxury coach provider.

The sponsored 45-foot RV will boast specs like a custom-built King Aire coach to cater specifically to LMC team members and the team's signature black, gold, and white color scheme. The RV will reportedly be used for over 20 race weekends next year.

The Newmar coach will reportedly give Jimmie Johnson's guests an unprecedented racing experience.

Jimmie Johnson has confirmed extending his NASCAR schedule to 2025

Following his retirement from NASCAR Cup Series, Jimmie Johnson gave a shot at the IndyCar Series. However, he resumed his NASCAR chapter after his entry as an owner and driver for LMC. Though the team began operating in 2022, the Californian registered his return in the 2023 Daytona 500.

Since then, he has fielded 12 part-time entries, salvaging the best finish of P26 in his most recent race at the Phoenix Raceway. It could've been 13 races had he not withdrawn from NASCAR's first-ever street race, the 2023 Grant Park 220 at the Chicago Street Course.

Until the very end of the 2024 season, Johnson was tight-lipped about venturing into the 2025 Cup Series season. However, that uncertainty was cleared following the NASCAR legend's revelation.

“Yep, I’ll definitely be in the car next year, just don’t know how many (races),” Johnson said after the event via Frontstretch (2:08).

Jimmie Johnson's LMC made some in-season changes as well. They hired HMS' former technical director Brian Campe under the team's engineering umbrella, internally promoted Gene Watchel as Johnson's crew chief, and tapped Reid Atherton to strengthen their business side.
