Gray competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series playoffs this season for TRICON garage and drove the #17 Toyota Tundra. The 19-year-old driver also drove for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Xfinity Series under a part-time obligation.

Announcing the move on social media platform X, Joe Gibbs Racing posted:

"SIGNED. @TaylorGray17_ will wheel the 54 Toyota GR Supra full-time in the #NASCAR @XfinityRacing series in 2025! #TeamToyota."

Speaking about his full-time opportunity, here's what Taylor Gray said in a press release:

"I am very thankful for this opportunity. I feel like I have learned a lot in the races I have ran this year and we can build on that next season. Being able to work with Tyler (Allen, crew chief) and these guys for a few races has been a great headstart on next season and getting that chemistry going, so I’m really excited about what we can do running together full-time.”

Gray's last Xfinity Series appearance was in Michigan at the Cabo Wabo 250 in August this year. He qualified in third place and finished the race in eighth. While he's yet to find a win in the Truck Series, his Xfinity outings surely impressed the top brass of Joe Gibbs Racing.

Gray has raked in two top-fives, and three top-10s in 12 Xfinity outings this season. Going by his Truck Series statistics, the Artesia-born driver has 49 races under his belt, picking up 17 top-10s. JGR fields four cars in the Xfinity Series, and with this move, it has cemented Gray's position in the competition next year.
