Kyle Larson's wife Katelyn Sweet recently shared a tribute on her mother's 60th birthday. She described her mom as the "best grandma, wife, sister, daughter, friend" and hosted a surprise celebration for the big event.
Larson and Katelyn married in 2018 and have three children together -- Owen, Audrey and Cooper. Katelyn posted a video with many pictures from her mother's birthday party on Sunday (Nov. 24).
"Happy 60th Birthday to the very best grandma, wife, sister, daughter, friend anyone could ask for, and my mommy! To know her is to love her. We pulled off the best surprise," Katelyn wrote.
Kelley Earnhardt, who co-owns JR Motorsports with her brother Dale Earnhardt Jr, reacted to the post with two words.
"Love this," Earnhardt commented.
Larson started dating Katelyn in 2014 after they met through her brother, Brad Sweet, who is also a professional race car driver.
"It’s such a big event and there’s so much hype" - Kyle Larson's wife on running the bikini contest for High Limit Racing
Kyle Larson started the High Limit Racing Series in 2021 with his brother-in-law, Brad Sweet who is a five-time World of Outlaws Champion.
Kyle's wife, Katelyn talked about her involvement in the series with Kenny Wallace in September. She shared that she helps to run the Silver Dollar Speedway but does not deal with the racing series and mostly focuses on the track during big events.
"I’m not too much involved in the High Limit racing side of it, more just the Silver Dollar Speedway promotion side of it... but I come for that week and help because it’s, you know, our biggest event. And because we own the series and the race track promotion, we need all hands on deck for that week," Katelyn said (05:26).
Katelyn organizes the Gold Cup bikini contest after the main event.
"I’m there to support in any way I can. If the lines are long, if they need help in concession stands, if they need help at the pit booth, wherever. But my job that week is to run the bikini contest and then promote that for Friday night. It’s such a big event and there’s such a big hype around it with all the crew guys,” she added (05:52).
Katelyn, who completed a half marathon in 2019, is also passionate about fitness and running.
Larson's series has become more popular, it offered a bigger prize money of $5 million and expanded to 50 races last year. FloSports also bought a small share in the series and the team joined the All-Star Race of Champions.
