Kyle Busch revealed his busy schedule with Richard Childress Racing is one of the best excuses to cancel plans and "decompose" after a long day. He mentioned that the team keeps him rather busy with many activities he is supposed to participate in.
The 39-year-old has been racing with RCR since 2023 and will continue in 2025. Other than his professional status, when Busch was asked about his strategy to "escape plans," he mentioned his schedule with the team keeps him locked in.
"Well, I'm always pretty busy. So typically I can always count on RCR finding something for me to do. And getting it on my calendar where I'm busy. Ha, I got work. Sorry."
He further mentioned that he barely gets time for himself as they remain extremely busy with his and his son Brexton's racing schedule.
"I don't know that that happens very often. Yeah, no, I mean, with my racing, Brexton's racing, everything going on right now, we're normally pretty busy."
Kyle Busch's son Brexton has been racing since 2020 and is making quite a name for himself at a young age. He has gathered 30 victories on more than 10 tracks across the country. However, this schedule can sometimes take quite a load on Busch.
Kyle Busch on "decomposing" after a long day
A father to two kids, the RCR driver's lifestyle can get increasingly tough on some days. A racing schedule followed by family responsibilities regularly leaves him exhausted and he barely gets any time to do what he plans, Busch mentioned.
Using an example, Kyle Busch mentioned that even if he plans to get on his simulator and run some practice races, his kids keep him busy and he starts to "decompose" on his couch at the end of the day.
"No, like this week there was times where I was like, geez, this week was stupid, crazy busy. And I'm like, can we just have like a day at home, you know, or a couple hours at home? But like, I'm off I might go do Sim or something like that."
"And then I come home and like, I just want to sit on the couch and like decompress for a second. And there's kids there mine. So like, I got to be dad. So that doesn't happen. You know, and then it's putting them to bed. And then when they're to bed, it's like, okay, finally now I can like decompose."
His son Brexton is nine years old. Samantha and Kyle Busch also gave birth to their daughter Lennix Key Busch in May 2022. While Brexton and Kyle devote most of their time to racing, Samantha Busch is a social worker who has helped hundreds of couples with IVF treatments and is also a social media influencer.
