Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson recently competed in the USAC National Midget race held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Merced Speedway in California. However, things didn't go as planned for Larson, and he couldn't secure a podium position in the race.

Corey Day led the race with his exceptional performance since the qualifying laps. Larson qualified for the race in P14, while Cory Day and Carson Macedo led the grid on the track.

Kyle Larson did an exceptional job chasing the leaders, but unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to give him the lead. He finished fifth in the practice session with a best time of 12.717 seconds, whereas Corey Day was in tenth place. Day finished in P6 in the qualifying lap, and Larson qualified in P14.

Carson Macedo and Kyle Larson competed in the Heat 1 race, while Corey Day faced off against Emerson Axsom in the Heat 2 race. More than 20 drivers competed in the main race of the event, with 24 drivers in the race. Corey Day nailed the performance and won the race, and Kyle Larson ended up in P4.

The HMS driver is having the time of his life and enjoying his off-season with his family. In an interview with Frontstretch on YouTube, Larson pointed out that he went to Bhamas after the final race at Phoenix Raceway with his family. Larson said:

"No, we just got back from Bahamas yesterday," Larson said when asked if he had any further plans. "So we spent I don't know five or so days there, and that was fun. You know with the family, kids and all that. Had to come back here for the banquet racing."

The #5 Chevy Camaro driver revealed that he will be racing in California to race on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday again. After these races, the HMS driver is planning a vacation before flying to Australia. He added:

"And then we have another vacation after that Australia, and then I'll go directly to shootout and then you know then NASCAR season basically starts right after that so yeah, not a whole lot of like relaxing at home," he added. (10:50-11:25)
