A report highlights that the workers voted for the strike on Friday, November 22, 2024, amid the busy week ahead against the American Airlines contractors, ABM and Prospect. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) officials pointed out that the service workers are "paid so little" that they struggle to secure proper housing. The official added:

"Some have become homeless, sleep in their cars, or cram their families into rented rooms, while others face the looming threat of eviction." (via USA Today)

According to SEIU, the Charlotte Douglas International Airport is expecting over a million passengers in the coming weeks to celebrate the holiday with their families.
