The 2023 NASCAR Xfinity 500 will take place on Sunday, October 29, at the Martinsville Speedway. The ninth playoff race can be watched on NBC, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio from 2 pm ET.
Located in Ridgeway, Virgina, Sunday’s Cup race will be the 35th race of the 2023 season and the final race of the Round of 8. The Martinsville Speedway will host the Next Gen car in action for the fourth time since its start.
The venue features a total of four turns with 12 degrees of turns and zero degrees of straight. The track first opened in 1947 and hosted the inaugural Xfinity 500 in 1949, where red Byron took the checkered flag.
The 36 drivers, including eight playoff drivers entering this week’s Cup Series race, will race for over 500 laps at the 0.526-mile-track, the shortest track on the schedule.
The Cup Series weekend will start with Saturday’s practice session. It will be followed by a qualifying race on the same day at 1:20 pm ET and finish with the Xfinity 500 main race on Sunday.
The Martinsville Speedway will host the season’s 35th event of the Cup Series and the 32nd for the Xfinity Series over three days.
The four drivers who are placed below the elimination line are Tyler Reddick, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, and Chris Buescher.
The current NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin is known as one of the most successful drivers at Martinsville Speedway with two wins, which came in 2009 an 2010.
Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell will enter as the defending champion of the Xfinity 500 and will go all out to defend his title. He has already locked his Championship 4 spot with last week’s Homestead win and has an opportunity to earn his maiden Cup title.
