The 2024 Coca-Cola 600 is set to take place on Sunday, May 26, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The crown jewel race will be telecast on FOX and PRN at 6 pm ET. Located in Concord, North Carolina, the race will be the 14th race of the 2024 NASCAR season and will see the Next Gen car in action for the fifth time since its debut.The 1.5-mile-long quad-oval track features 24 degrees of banking in the turns and five degrees of banking on the straightaways.The Charlotte Motor Speedway was first opened in 1960. It hosted its inaugural Cup Series race at the track the same year. Joe Lee Johnson was the winner of the inaugural Cup race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.The 39 drivers entering this week’s Cup Series race will compete across 400 laps in 600 miles. The Cup Series weekend will begin with a practice and qualifying session on Saturday (May 15), followed by the main event on Sunday.Ryan Blaney and Team Penske enter as the defending winners after securing a thrilling victory in last year's Coca-Cola 600. The #12 Penske Ford driver will look to defend his title this week.NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip holds the record for most Coca-Cola 600 wins with five. He won the event in 1978, 1979, 1985, 1988 and 1989.
