For Dale Earnhardt Jr., Thanksgiving Day means a good old turkey, smothered with some Hellman’s mayonnaise and a can of Budweiser to lighten up the mood. While the NASCAR Hall of Famer dropped an update on how his preparation for the ‘perfect’ celebration is going, former Xfinity Series driver Landon Cassill used AI to generate an image of the NASCAR vet busy getting his turkey ready for the oven.
Dale Jr. likes to take time with his turkey. He stuffs the bird with garlic, onions, and some fresh herbs. Then, he slides a few knobs of butter underneath the skin to keep it moist from the inside and then brushes the exterior with mayonnaise and a BBQ rub. Only then is it ready to hit the oven for four hours.
Cassill posted an AI-generated image of the aforementioned description of Dale Jr. cooking turkey with the following caption:
“I asked AI to create an image of this glorious American Thanksgiving setting @DaleJr so graciously described for us.”
Journalist Alan Cavanna was impressed with how appropriately AI came up with the logos of Chevrolet and Budweiser on his shirt. Reflecting on the same, he commented,
“The logos on the shoulders are so perfect. AI is too good.”
While fans were left impressed with AI and at the same time, amused by the BBQ-flavored can of Budweiser beer on the counter, Dale Earnhardt Jr. wished them a very happy Thanksgiving. In another tweet, the two-time Xfinity Series champion wrote,
“Hope it’s a great day for you and your family. #HappyThanksgiving.”
But how did the turkey turn out after four hours of roasting? Dale Jr. made sure to update his fans on it as well.
“Turkey was good. Battled a food coma for a few hours but we are back!” he noted.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. addresses technical issues on FloRacing’s Late Model broadcast
Dale Earnhardt Jr. returned behind the No. 8 Budweiser Chevy for the South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway this past Saturday. Needless to say, fans have been waiting for this comeback for quite some time. After all, Dale Jr.’s bond with Budweiser is regarded as one of the most iconic partnerships in the history of NASCAR.
However, there were multiple technical glitches in FloRacing’s coverage of the 250-lap event. The audio would stop sometimes, and sometimes the stream would cut out. So what actually happened?
“This is a facility that manages probably anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 on a great night,” Dale Earnhardt Jr. explained in a recent episode of his Dale Jr. Download podcast. “They have what they need in terms of internet and all of those things.”
“Steve (Zacharias, owner of Florence Motor Speedway) and his team have everything they need to function week in and week out. I don’t think they could have prepared for what they were going to have in terms of how much the system would be loaded by not only the fans that were there if anybody was using the wifi…I just don’t think they really anticipated how stressed and overstressed that system would be,” Dale Jr. added.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. wasn’t able to finish the race due to an early fuel pump issue. Meanwhile, NASCAR Canada Series regular Treyten Lapcevich won the race, holding off fellow racer Doug Barnes by 3.939 seconds.
