Natalie Decker, the part-time Xfinity Series driver, recently shared some exciting news about her personal life with her husband, Derek Lemke. Decker pilots the #36 and #92 Chevrolet Camaros for GM Racing in the Xfinity Series.
Decker has competed in two races this season - at Charlotte Motor Speedway where she secured P29, and at the Daytona International Speedway where she managed a P18 finish. She also has 32 starts in the Craftsman Truck Series under her belt where her best finish came at Daytona in 2020 (P5).
On Wednesday, Decker announced that she and her husband are expecting their first child. Decker wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
"A little bit of heaven sent down to earth making our little dream come true 🤍"
Decker and Lemke reportedly started dating in 2016. The couple announced their engagement in December 2022 and eventually tied the knot on New Year's Eve in 2023.
Decker shared a few heartfelt snaps of the announcement of their first child on Instagram as well:
"A little bit of heaven sent down to earth making our little dream come true 🤍"
Decker was slated to race at Talladega earlier this year. However, according to her, NASCAR did not approve her sponsor. Decker is currently P48 in the Xfinity Series driver standings.
"I'll be back in the car in 2025" - Natalie Decker responds to a fan that claimed she should retire amid pregnancy announcement
Following the heartfelt announcement from the Xfinity Series driver, a troll on X responded to Toby Christie's post about the announcement and wrote:
"I'm glad she's found happiness in retirement"
Decker clapped back at the jab and responded that she'll be back racing next year.
"I don’t owe anybody an answer for anything, but I want to make one thing clear once a race car driver always a race car driver. I’ll be back in the car in 2025," Decker wrote on X.
While the announcement has brought excitement to her personal life, there is growing speculation about Natalie Decker's prospects for the remainder of the season.
