"No shame";"First time they’re racing & we don’t get to see it" - NASCAR fans "stunned" by FOX Sports' advert-riddled Talladega broadcast

The tenth event of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season saw drivers visit the sport's biggest and steepest oval on the calendar. Talladega Superspeedway was the venue hosting the 2024 GEICO 500 which saw drivers duke it out on track for who could save the most fuel while staying out of trouble at the behemoth venue.

While the race itself was deemed good with several lead changes despite a lack of caution flags during the first two stages of the 500-mile-long event, NASCAR fans at home were left more than wanting better coverage of the event as a whole.

FOX Sports was in charge of bringing the GEIC0 500 to fans across the world, highlighting key moments of action during the event, along with a focus on crucial moments in the race.

A lack of the same from FOX Sports and their heavy reliance on commercial advertisements during the race seemed to tick off fans of the sport, along with members of the stock car racing fraternity as well.

Here are some of the best reactions to the same online:

"I was stunned when they to commercials with less then five to go. No shame," they wrote.
"First time they’re actually racing and we don’t get to see it," a fan wrote.
"We need a premium, commercial free option," rued another fan.
"“Business is picking up! Enjoy this commercial instead!”—Mike Joy," mocked one fan.
"Production team needs to be shown the door," said another.

It remains to be seen whether NASCAR reacts to fans' criticism of the broadcast's quality, and if FOX Sports takes action to improve the same.

Michael McDowell recaps last-lap crash during NASCAR Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway

Front Row Motorsports' Michael McDowell became the driver to set off 'The Big One' at Talladega right on the last lap of the GEICO 500 as the #34 Ford Mustang driver battled Brad Keselowski for a chance to visit victory lane.

Elaborating on what he did wrong and cost himself a chance to celebrate in victory lane, McDowell told in a post-race interview with Frontstretch:

"I moved up to block Brad's run and when I pulled back down I just wasn't clear. Barely got my bumper and turned me. Just unfortunate and I hate it because we had a good chance of getting into the victory lane."

Meanwhile, NASCAR Cup Series drivers will be seen racing next Sunday at Dover Motor Speedway.
