"Think about how wild it is" : Danica Patrick shares childhood picture while making patriotic statement about American flag

Danica Patrick on Wednesday shared a photo on her official social media account where she proudly donned a jacket that resembles the American flag. The image, captured during her childhood, highlighted her patriotic spirit.

Patrick has been extremely vocal about her support for American presidential candidate Donald Trump and his Make America Great Again (MAGA) campaign. She also voted for Trump last week and is actively campaigning for him.

Interestingly, Patrick received a lot criticism on social media for supporting Trump. People questioned her stance on MAGA and even her patriotism. As such, the former NASCAR driver took to micro-blogging site X, to share her stance,

"I have always loved this country and I will do whatever it takes to be able say that without worrying who I might trigger and to be able wear that jacket again without it being a political stance!!!!!," Patrick wrote.
"Who’s with me?! Think about how wild it is that saying I love this country and wearing an American flag is triggering. I feel like I am taking crazy pills!" she added.

An analyst with Sky Sports F1, Danica Patrick is a pioneer in women's motorsport. She was the first woman to win an IndyCar race, the 2008 Indy Japan 300, and remains the only woman driver to achieve this feat. Additionally, the 42-year-old is the only woman to claim a NASCAR Cup Series pole position.

She took part in 191 Cup Series races over seven years, earning a pole position and seven top-10 finishes. In the Xfinity Series, she competed in 61 races over five years. Patrick's IndyCar career includes a victory, seven podiums, and three pole positions in 116 races

Danica Patrick defended Donald Trump against an accusation related to women. The Beloit-born former driver snubbed the claim that Trump does not respect women by stating that the latter is surrounded by strong women in life.

“The one consistent thing about @realdonaldtrump is that he has powerful, strong women around him. Look at his wife, his children, and who works for him. Please don't let fake news tell you he doesn't respect us," Patrick wrote.

Besides rooting for Trump and campaigning for him on social media and on the ground, Patrick also spoke at a Team Trump's Women's Tour event in Phoenix, Arizona, recently.

Republican candidate Trump is competing against Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party in the 60th quadrennial presidential election this year. The election is set to take place on November 5.
