Two-time NASCAR champion and NASCAR All-Star winner Joey Logano's crew member Travis Geisler is in jubilation. Logano won his first race of the season at the North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday.

Logano, who has yet to clinch a points-paying NASCAR Cup race this season, started on the pole and maintained a commanding lead throughout the race. Multiple tire compounds added an extra layer of complexity, but Logano pushed through, leading a total of 199 laps out of 200 to claim a dominant victory.

Logano's closest competition came from Denny Hamlin, who nearly grabbed the lead with a bold three-wide move midway through the race and closed the gap in the final laps. Despite Hamlin's efforts, Logano edged him out by 0.636 seconds to take the win.

Chris Buescher finished third, Kyle Larson, who qualified fifth for the Indy 500 earlier in the day, came in fourth, and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top five. The victory was a much-needed boost for Team Penske, which has been striving for better results this season.

Following the race, former Team Penske crew chief and current competition director Travis Geisler spoke to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and said:

"This was an amazing day for the captain and everybody at Team Penske. To accomplish what we did today, to come out here and sit on the pole and pretty much lead every lap except for one, it's a fantastic day."
"So proud of everybody. Everybody has been working hard. Obviously, we haven't been winning as much as we wanted to, but this is a lot of medicine to be here in the victory lane. To win another million here with Joey, it's such a special race," Joey Logano added.

What did Joey Logano say after winning the NASCAR All-Star race?

Following the race, Joey Logano expressed satisfaction with his performance and praised his team for their hard work. He told the media (via Motorsport.com):

"My car was so fast. We came here and tested and ran over 800 laps at the tire test. Paul (Wolfe, crew chief) really figured out what it would take to win this race. We executed fantastic (pit) stops."

He added:

"A lot of fun when you’ve got a car this fast. It's just so great to get in Victory Lane. All of our sponsors and everyone who stuck with us to get a win, it feels nice. It’s been a while. I wish it was for points, but a million bucks is still a lot of money and works as well."

Despite the win in the NASCAR All-Star race, Joey Logano is yet to win a points race in the Cup Series. The 33-year-old is ranked 17th in the NASCAR Cup Series standings. He has 292 points to his name, 24 short of the cutline.
