Daniel Suarez recently discussed the personal highlights that have made 2024 one of the best years of his life. Suarez is one of the top 16 drivers who have qualified for the 2024 NASCAR playoffs.

Suarez is a full-time Cup Series driver competing for Trackhouse Racing, piloting the #99 Chevy Camaro. In his eighth full-time season, he claimed his second Cup Series victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway which booked his berth in the upcoming playoffs. Additionally, the 32-year-old found himself on the victory lane at the NASCAR Mexico and Brasil Series.

During the NASCAR playoffs media day, the former Xfinity Series champion Suarez recapitulated his high moments from the year. He talked about how his recent marriage with long-time partner Julia Piquet and passing the US citizenship exam have made his 2024 year one of the best. He said:

"Probably is one of the best years of my life and I’m not talking racing. I’m talking everything. It’s been an amazing year. (On getting married) I think I overachieved. I definitely have done better than I thought I would."

When asked about the moments that would be on the top of his highlight reel, Daniel Suarez said:

"That's very tough, man. If I don't say the wedding, Julia is going to kill me. That's not a good question [laughter]. I wish I could say a lot, but no, definitely the wedding was unbelievable. I'm going to win a bunch of races in my career, I'm going to win championships. You know, the wedding and the US citizenship was a big thing for me."

Suarez will be seen next in action for the first round of the 2024 playoffs at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 8. It is worth mentioning that Daniel Suarez earlier this season drove through the victory lane in a three-wide photo finish, ahead of Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch.

"As big as winning a championship" - Daniel Suarez on potentially winning a Cup Series race in Mexico City

A few days ago, NASCAR finally released the 2025 Cup Series schedule which includes a trip to Mexico. However, a leaked screenshot of the potential Cup Series schedule surfaced online well before the official release which also included the Mexico race.

Ahead of the official release of the schedule, Daniel Suarez was asked about his views of NASCAR hosting a race in Mexico and said it would be "a dream".

In a media interaction, Suarez said (via Frontstretch):

"Honestly it would be like a dream to me. I've been in the Cup Series already for several years, and a race to my native country. it would be like a dream. Since I moved out of my country in 2011 it's been a dream to come back as a Cup Series driver. And if that's real, it would be amazing and winning that race for me, it would be as big as winning a championship." [3:12]
