Ty Majeski continues to win even after claiming this year's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship. The driver of the #98 ThorSport Racing Ford scored a super late model victory on Saturday night at Freedom Factory, a short track in Bradenton, Florida.
The event was the Noland's Roofing Bill Bigley, Sr. Memorial 128, which paid Majeski $30,000 for the victory. Majeski also qualified for the race on the pole, which helped him pocket another $4,000. After the race, the champion driver was seen posing alongside the winning trophy via an X post by Racing America.
The account verified that Majeski passed post-race inspection, deeming his win valid.
"Tech is clear, Ty Majeski is your official winner of the Noland's Roofing Bill Bigley, Sr. Memorial 128 at Freedom Factory."
Majeski told Racing America after the race that he knew from the time he arrived at the Florida short track, they would have a shot to win. As the race went on, Majeski said he did his best to fend off runner-up Casey Johnson.
“What a great car,” Majeski said. “This goes back to preparation back at the shop. When we unloaded this weekend, we knew we’d be tough. We didn’t practice much, which is really unlike us. We knew we had a good piece. Just trying to execute once we got in the race. Just tried to manage my gap to Casey there, try to gap him a little bit and then just manage it for a late-race caution.”
Majeski qualified for the Championship 4 race in the Truck Series for the second time in his career after doing so in 2022. That year, Majeski finished fourth among the title contenders. This time, he claimed the championship by winning the title race at the Phoenix Raceway from the pole position. Majeski registered three victories this season at IRP, Richmond, and Phoenix, respectively.
Majeski moved to the Truck Series full-time in 2022. Since then, he's scored six wins and 28 top-five finishes for ThorSport Racing.
ThorSport Racing's Allison Thorson said the team enjoys working with Ty Majeski after title win
Allison Thorson, daughter of ThorSport Racing owners Duke and Rhonda Thorson, offered cordial words to Ty Majeski in the post-race press conference after winning the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship.
"We like to work with drivers," Thorson said via Bob Pockrass. "Ty is one of those drivers who has the nickname of 'Golden Shoes.' He's a good person. I think there's a quote, 'You keep doing the right thing, and things will pay off.' That's kind of the picture for Ty."
Before the Truck Series, Ty Majeski made sporadic appearances in the Xfinity Series driving for car owner Jack Roush from 2017-2018. The Wisconsin native registered three top-10s across 15 starts.
