23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace's weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway was in many ways just like Kyle Larson's, just toned down a notch. The #23 Toyota Camry TRD driver was on double duty throughout the weekend with him running both the Cup Series as well as the Craftsman Truck Series races on the 0.625-mile-long track.

After finishing in P5 post the Tyson 250, and in P2 post the All-Star Race, Wallace was one of the best drivers and cars to have raced on the resurgent short track in North Carolina.

After racing on the old and worn-out tarmac at North Wilkesboro for 125 miles during the All-Star Race, the #23 Toyota Camry TRD driver was the only one even remotely close to Larson in P2, albeit with a significant gap.

Elaborating on his performance as well as Larson's domination on the track on Sunday, Bubba Wallace said in a post-race interview:

"He just drove away on the restart you know. Could I have tried to be more aggressive and get him (Kyle Larson) out of the way? I don't think it would've matter, I think he would've drove right back through the field. We just didn't have the full potential that we needed but all in all, come out here second, we'll take it."

Bubba Wallace's start to the 2023 Cup Series season has been one of his most promising years in the highest echelon of the sport, with more top-5 finishes and laps led than any other season so far into the year.

Bubba Wallace speaks on what being the 'best of the rest' means for the #23 team at 23XI Racing going forward

After finishing in P2 after the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace was seen dealing with bitter-sweet emotions post-race. The #23 Toyota Camry TRD driver elaborated on how running second and riding the momentum the crew has been carrying for a few weekends was good.

Whereas on the other hand, Wallace spoke on how close he was to winning the race, as he elaborated post-race, saying:

"(Kyle) Larson was lights out so congrats to himThey've been hitting on the head, you know, really all season. To run second to them is not a bad thing but to run second in an All Star Race sucks. You go home with nothing."

NASCAR goes to Charlotte Motor Speedway next weekend as the regular points-paying season resumes with the Coca-Cola 600.
