The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Talladega Superspeedway for the YellaWood 500. The excitement is high as it’s the second race of the Round of 12 playoffs season at the longest track on the schedule.

NASCAR hosted the first YellaWood 500 back in 1969, where Richard Brickhouse emerged victorious driving the #99 Dodge for Ray Nichels.

Since the inaugural YellaWood 500, some of the biggest stars and teams have reached victory lane at least once at Talladega Superspeedway.

A total of 52 different NASCAR Cup drivers have taken the checkered flag at Talladega, and 27 of the 52 have multiple wins at this event.

NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt leads the YellaWood 500 in victories with seven wins. Earnhardt took his first checkered flag at the event in 1983, while his last win came in 2000.

Among active Cup drivers, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, and Joey Logano have the most wins at the Talladega fall race with two wins each.

Richard Childress Racing’s eight wins at the Talladega fall race are the most among teams. They came in 1984, 1990–1991, 1993, 1999, 2000, 2010–2011. Meanwhile, Hendrick Motorsports and Team Penske have won six times each.

Eight different manufacturers have won at this event, with Chevrolet (22) winning the most times. They are followed by Ford (17), Toyota (3), Dodge (3), Mercury (3), Buick (3), Plymouth (2), and Oldsmobile (2).
