The wait for the first win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season continues for Kyle Busch.

Sunday’s Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway didn't go as well for the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion as he expected. He finished 27th after starting fourth. It was his fifth outside the top-20 result in eight races this season.

After another disappointing finish, 2023 Talladega spring race winner Kyle Busch expressed his frustration with the current state of racing and the performance of the Next Gen car on social media, tweeting:

“Ride in line=finish where u r TRY to race for win=finish last I hate these cars!!!”

After his tweet went viral, fans were quick to react, showing their support for Busch's statement and agreeing with him that they also hate Next Gen cars. While some fans suggested that NASCAR needs to fix superspeedway racing. One fan wrote:

“you're not alone, trust me”
“Stay positive. Your momentum may have been stalled today, but it won't be stalled the whole season. Continue to do what you do, work hard, and go get that Win! YOU'VE GOT THIS! #RowdyNation is behind you 100,” another fan wrote.
“As a fan of NASCAR, I can co-sign on this statement full heartedly,” a third fan commented.
“They need to fix super speedway racing. Cars are way too draggy,” said another.
“Believe me we hate them too,” fifth user wrote.
“Me too! My favorite to watch were the late 2010s... The Big Three era. Before they started trying to collapse the field together with big spoilers and what not. It reminded me of the races I grew up watching in the late 90s,” commented another user.

Kyle Busch reflects on his frustrating finish at Talladega

The #8 Richard Childress Racing driver, who started in fourth place, was in contention; he finished inside the top-5 on the opening stage and earned stage points as well.

After the GEICO 500, Kyle Busch expressed his frustration at his decision to make a move towards the front towards the end of the race, which resulted in getting caught up in a major crash on the final lap.

“Crew chief Randall Burnett and the guys made good calls to keep us in contention throughout the race on Sunday, and we were able to lead laps and earn stage points,” Kyle Busch said, as quoted by NASCAR on NBC.
“I made a move to try to get to the front at the end because I saw the outside line had momentum. It didn’t work out and then we got caught up in a big pileup on the last lap. It’s really frustrating because if you ride in line you finish where you were, but if you try to race for the win you end up finishing in the back,”

With 233 points, Kyle Busch is 17th in the Cup Series points table after 10 races.
