Leo Costa: A Brief Biography

Leo Costa, a Brazilian footballer was born on 3rd March, 1986 in Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil. The right footed attacking midfielder plays for Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League. He also plays as a right mid player.


Background


Costa played his youth football at Santo Andre and was promoted to the senior team in 2007. He played there for 1 season before moving to Sao Bernardo on loan. He then went on to play for Paulista for a short period.


He then went on to play for Czech side Brno during the 2009 season. In the following year he returned to Brazil to play for Uniao Sao Joao in the 2010 season. Then in August 2010 he moved to Linense and appeared Copa Paulista and Campeonato Paulista.


He then appeared for clubs like Itumbiara, Sao Bernardo, Vila Nova. Then in 2013 he moved to Rio Branco before moving to Rio Claro.


In 2014,Costa had a great season for Rio Claro scoring a total of 9 goals. Then in 2015 season Costa moved to Portuguesa and moved to Mumbai City FC in 2016.


Debut


He has not made debut for Brazil National team due to heavy competition performance from other players.


Low Points


He could not play for a single club for a long time and kept on moving from one team to another. He could not make a huge impact in the club football therefore he was in no way considered for the National team selection.


Club Career


Leo Costa started his career at Santo Andre in 2007. He then moved to Sao Bernardo on loan for the 2008 season. Then in 2009, he moved to Czech side Brno before moving to Uniao Sao Joao in 2010.


Costa then moved to Linense in 2011 season and joined Vila Nova in 2012. Leo Costa is considered one of the most travelled players. He moved to Rio Branco before moving to Rio Claro in 2013. He had a very successful season there scoring 9 goals in that season.


Costa moved to Vitoria in 2014 season and returned back to Rio Claro in 2016 and then moved to Mumbai City FC to play the Indian Super League. He currently plays for Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League.
