Abhinav Iyer From India Ends Day 3 APT Vietnam ME As Chip Leader

After a smashing Day 2, Abhinav Iyer finished Day 3 at the APT Kickoff Vietnam 2019 Main Event in style with highest chip count in his stride. Starting Day 3 from 17th place, Iyer navigated his way to reach the top spot as Day 3 of Main Event ended. Well, history has it Vietnam holds a special place in the hearts of Indian poker players. Last year, Dhaval Mudgal won his first WPT Vietnam title in the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh. And, this year too, Team India isn’t far from making history.

Iyer At 2019 APT Main Event

The Main Event at the APT Vietnam Kickoff gathered 576 entries. Out of which, 77 runners were from Indian contingency who entered Day 2. Later, a team of 6 heavyweights lead by Iyer powered their way to Day 3. As the day progressed, all but one bowed out of APT Vietnam ME. Iyer has not only managed to stay but stay super-strong with a monster stack of 4,825,000 chips in his bag. Sitting at less than half chip count of 2,105,000, China’s Mai Te sailed his way to second place after Day 3 culminated.

As announced, 58 top slots will take home a guaranteed pay cheque. And, India’s Meherzad Munsaf turned out to be the first one to receive the minimum cash of INR 1.16lakh.

The Final Table

The final table is now down to Eight survivors and the heat is building up already. As Day 4 resumes, all eyes will be on the largest share of the VND 1 1,174,400,000 prize pool. The winner, of course, will be the one to walk away with the VND 2.26billion money. Who will be the one? We’ll have to wait for Day 4 to wrap up before we find the answer.
