Justin Bonomo Wins $586,114 At The 2019 Triton Jeju Series

Triton poker is one name that is recognised across the world for its ultra-high-stakes poker tournaments. It attracts the best players around the globe for its tournaments. The US pro, Justin Bonomo is one such name.

He is the highest grossing live poker tournament player in the world, with over $40 million in live cash. In 2018, he bagged a number of titles along with massive cash prizes. One of his wins also includes the Super High Roller Bowl double that helped him overtake Daniel Negreanu on the all-time money list.

This year Triton began at Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World, Jeju, South Korea. And, Bonomo kick-started the tournament with a win in Event #1 - Short Deck Ante-Only Event. The buy-in for this event was HKD 250,000. The tournament had 65 entries, including 28 reentries that generated HKD 15,275,000 in the prize pool.

Final Day Recap

The second day started with fifteen players on the board out of which only eight were going to make money. John Juanda was the first one to be eliminated at eighth place with cash before the final table of seven started.

Ben Lamb was the first one to go from the final table. Ying Lin Chua followed him. Both were removed by the chip leader Yue Wei Hsiang. Bonomo came into action after that and removed Choon Siow and David Benefield at fifth and fourth place respectively.

Finally, Bonomo removed Sergey Lebedev at the third place to go head to head against Yue Wei Hsiang. Bonomo had a 2:1 chip advantage against Hsiang when they entered the heads-up round and he used that perfectly to his advantage and won the title along with HKD 4,600,000 ($586,114) in prize money.
