Martin Zamani won the final High Roller of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. He won the $895,110 winner’s cheque, which is by far the biggest of his career.
He achieved this feat after he defeated the man he described as the ‘EndBoss’, Dominik Nitsche, heads-up for the title.
What A Face-Off!
The names Zamani faced off against were few of the biggest in the high roller scene, like Sam Greenwood and Nick Petrangelo.
However, the lady-luck was with him, and there was no stopping to his winning streak. He confessed afterward: "I ran really good." It was a run even he had not imagined till now.
There were a total of 162 entries in the $25k buy-in that had garnered another massive prize pool of almost $4million. Zamani had already quadrupled his previous best when he was still in the mix as the final six fought for the title.
Zamani dealt a double-knockout blow to remove Durnegger and Bedell after Italy’s Gianluca Speranza was taken out at sixth.
He was able to deal the double-knockout blow after his pocket queens held up- as the brother of the two-time WSOP bracelet winner admitted later "I really won 20 for 20 all-ins. Probably 30 for 30 now."
After Muehlocker left the game at third, Zamani was left in a dream Scenario. He had always wanted to play Dominik Nitsche heads up for a very long time. He told PokerNews: "I've wanted to play Dom heads up for a long time. I mean, come on. He's the end boss."
The Dream Finale!
Zamani had a dream finale with the person he has admired for so long. Beating him in the finals was icing on the cake for him.
He removed the king Nitsche to grab the title and huge prize money. His excitement has no boundaries after this massive win. This seemed the like first of the many to come.
