Steve O’Dwyer shipped first prize worth €74,250 at the Master Classics of Poker which is the 5th win for the player. The amount astonishes the poker circuit as it was a 3-man Sit and Go.
Dutch poker pro Stefan Wolzak and O’Dwyer were all geared up to initiate the game as it was scheduled at 2 p.m. for €25,500 Super High Roller, but due to some unavoidable reasons had to wait for few hours for Patrik Antonius to join them at the felts.
About The Tournament
It was a classic hyper-turbo 3-man game but significant events took place within a couple of hours. Antonius found himself brick walled when O’Dwyer produced pockets aces at the table. As a result, the game now turned into a heads-up between O’Dwyer and Wolzak, contesting for the big prize money. This was one of the most crucial moments in the tournament and the following heads-up was equally entertaining.
Albeit O’Dwyer has lost once to Roger Teska at The Caribbean in such a situation, it has always been unlikely for him to lose. And this time it was indeed unlikely as he busted Wolzak with pocket aces against the latter’s flush and went on to win the title pocketing €74,250 ($84,193).
O’Dwyer has been a frequent visitor at the Holland Casino Amsterdam but until now could not manage to win a title at the same. He could now add this maiden MCOP victory to his other prized possessions that he has earned during his career as a professional poker player.
Final Result
Steve O’Dwyer took home a hefty sum of €74,250 ($84,193) shipping the tournament. This tournament turned out as a classic showcase of his talent in the right direction which got him to the 1st position.
