Stephen Chidwick is having the run of his lifetime at the US Poker Open. Last year when he became the US Poker Open champion, he won two of the eight events, whilst earning a total of $1,256,650 with fifth, third and second place finishes in the other games.

This year, he has reached the final table in four of the six events, winning two of them. He has finished second, third, and sixth in the others to win a total prize money of $705,950. This includes $216,000 for winning Event #1: $10,000 NLH and $351,000 for topping a 39-entry field to win Event #6: $25,000 PLO.

He defeated a field of 39 entrants in USPO Event #6 to regain his lead in the 2019 USPO points race over Sean Winter. There are still four tournaments remaining which makes this battle between the two all the more entertaining.

Apart from winning Event #1 for $216,000, Chidwick also entered the final table in two other USPO events before claiming his latest title. His best finish apart from the victories was 3rd place in the $10K Event #3 for $113,750.

The Final Table

Chidwick was in the chip lead when the final table action began. Anthony Zinno was the first one to go when he was removed by a flush from Cary Katz. Sean Rafael was the next to go after suffering a defeat at the hands of Chidwick. Katz then removed both Ben Lamb for fourth place and Tom Marchese for third place.

Katz was the only one left on the table ready to go in a heads-up match against Chidwick. He was fresh off a 2nd place finish to Ali Imsirovic in Event #5 for $295,000 and was motivated to win this event. However, he again had to settle for the runners-up prize money despite taking the chip lead on multiple occasions.
