Amid rumours of his demise on social media, the POTUS took to Truth Social on August 29, 2025, to comment on a ruling of a U.S. Appeals Court stating that most of his tariffs were not legal.

"ALL TARIFFS ARE STILL IN EFFECT! Today a Highly Partisan Appeals Court incorrectly said that our Tariffs should be removed, but they know the United States of America will win in the end." the President wrote

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of a lower court wherein it was found that the POTUS didn't possess unlimited authority to impose taxes on almost all U.S. imports.

However, the appellate judges delayed the enforcement of the order until mid-October, intending to allow the administration some time to appeal the case to the Supreme Court.

Additionally, before commenting on the tariffs still being in effect despite the court’s ruling, the POTUS shared news of "GREAT Governor Mike Kehoe, of the Wonderful State of Missouri," calling a special session to begin the passage of a "new, much fairer, and much improved, Congressional Map." He shared that the Congressional Map would allow people of Missouri to elect an additional MAGA Republican in the 2026 midterm elections.

What gave rise to rumours of Trump's demise? Details explored

According to The Week's report dated August 30, 2025, rumors of the POTUS' demise started circulating early last week when Trump was seen with a purple bruise on his right hand.

As per the publication, a similar bruise was spotted on the POTUS in February 2025 when he met French President Emmanuel Macron. However, he wore a mismatched foundation at the time, and the same was absent to cover up the bruise this time around.

White House physician, Captain Sean P. Barbabella, DO, MC, USN, mentioned that the purple bruise on Trump was the result of soft tissue irritation caused to do regular use of aspirin and frequent handshakes.

Concerning the President's health, reports of Chronic venous insufficiency also surfaced after pictures of his legs were posted. Chronic venous insufficiency causes leg swelling. However, White House officials denied news of the President's health issues.

Another aspect that caused rumors of the POTUS' demise to float on the internet was Vice President JD Vance's statement to USA Today on August 28, 2025. He admitted that while "terrible tragedies" happen, he feels confident that the POTUS is in "good shape" and will be serving the American people for the remainder of his term.

JD Vance added:

“And if, God forbid, there's a terrible tragedy, I can't think of better on-the-job training than what I've gotten over the last 200 days."

No credible media portal or publication has acknowledged rumors concerning the POTUS' demise. Moreover, the White House hasn't issued a statement regarding the same as well.
