A viral video featuring Presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz posing in front of a Revolutionary Communists of America sign, resurfaced online in late September to early October this year. The origin of the video dates back to August 2024 but it gained popularity ahead of the 2024 Presidential elections.

On September 30, X user @MAGADevilDog shared the viral video featuring Harris and Walz on the platform, alongside the caption:

"Whatever you do, do not share this again. Kamala hates the fact that she's been branded as a communist. Even though it's 100% true."

However, multiple evidences prove that the video featuring Kamala Harris and Tim Walz posing in front of a Revolutionary Communists of America sign is fake.

According to the Community Note below the aforementioned post, the video is edited as can be proven by Harris' finger disappearing at the 0:06 mark. The note also points out that sharing such videos is against the terms and conditions of X.

The original video displayed a simple banner that referred to Tim Walz's former job as a high school football coach. The sign originally said "Kamala and the Coach." The official @KamalaHQ account on X shared the same video on August 10, 2024.

Watch it here:

Multiple image searches through Getty Images show that the video and photos are from an event on August 9, 2024, when Kamala Harris and Tim Walz visited a campaign office in Glendale, Arizona. The video's illegitimacy is evident by the watermark, revealing it was created and circulated by Donald Trump's supporters, the Dilley Meme Team.

The watermark of the group can be spotted at the lower left corner of the video. The username of the X user @MAGADevilDog, who shared the video, can also be seen right next to the Revolutionary Communists of America sign.

The viral fake video was also circulated online previously in August 2024, originating from the same X account, @MAGADevilDog. The bio of the user clearly states they are a memer, and reads, "Memer and content creator for the Dilley show, Dilley Meme Team, Trump 2024."

Kamala Harris is set to visit the state of Wisconsin, known as the birthplace of the Republican Party

On October 3, 2024, Vice President and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris will visit Ripon, Wisconsin, as part of her campaign. Ripon, known as the birthplace of the Republican Party, is home to the Little White Schoolhouse, where the party was founded in 1854. Harris will host an event there, joined by former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, who endorsed her last month.

Harris' campaign representatives said that the Democrat will discuss the history of the GOP at the event and attempt to appeal to Republican votes and other neutrals. In one of her rallies in Charlotte last month, Harris claimed that more than 200 Republicans had backed her campaign, and said:

"I will always put country above party, and I will be a president for all Americans."

It is worth noting that Liz Cheney is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney. The father-daughter duo identify themselves as traditional conservatives and have mentioned that they will vote for Kamala Harris as they believe Republican nominee Donald Trump is a threat to US democracy.

Dick Cheney said in a statement last month that he would vote for Kamala Harris.

"As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris," Cheney said.

Meanwhile, Liz Cheney began opposing Trump after the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol by Trump supporters. The supporters attempted to pull off a self-coup d'etat to take over the capitol following Trump's defeat in the 2020 US Presidential elections. Cheney voted to impeach the then President Trump and was part of a House committee that investigated the January 6 attack.
