17-year-old internet personality Lil Tay's Instagram and X account handles claimed to have "devastating" news about her. These claims happened about a year after Tay, born Claire Hope, became a victim of a death hoax. One message shared on X read:
"We have devastating news regarding tay"
Another post shared this afternoon read:
"Please pray for tay. we will be updating you as more information becomes available."
The strange messages grabbed netizens' attention. While some expressed concern about Lil Tay, others claimed that it was another "hoax" and they wouldn't fall for it this time.
"Girl how many times are yall gonna pull this stunt.." a user tweeted.
"Tell us as soon as you can i hope she is okay," another tweet read.
Meanwhile, a broadcast channel was created on Instagram, and two messages were sent as well. One of them posted just a few hours back, read:
"Tay is currently in the ICU in serious condition."
An image of what seemed like the interiors of a hospital was also shared on the broadcast channel. As of now, no further updates or confirmations have been made on the internet personality.
Everything to know about Lil Tay's death hoax that happened a year back
This is not the first time that netizens have come across such suspicious information about Lil Tay. Just a year ago, in August, a post was shared on her Instagram feed that claimed that she and her brother had passed away. The statement in the post further mentioned:
"During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation."
It was later claimed that her account was hacked by a third party who had shared the post. Meta too confirmed that a hack had taken place. Meanwhile, the internet personality claimed that her dad was behind all of it and also that she was abused by him. However, her father denied the allegations. She later issued a statement that read:
"I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say."
In November 2023, Tay spoke to Rolling Stone, where she expressed her desire to gain immense fame and soon began focusing on music. Her latest release was Sucker 4 Green (Money). Complex reported in an article dated August 2023, that Lil Tay was only 9 years old in 2017 when she first went viral.
In 2018, in a Good Morning America interview, Tay addressed the rumors according to which her family forced her to make content on social media. Referring to herself as the "youngest flexer" she then said:
"I run my own Instagram."
Netizens are now eagerly waiting to get further clarity on the messages and tweets made from Tay's official social media handles.
