Caleb Graves, a popular TikTok user, recently died at the age of 33 after finishing the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon on Sunday, September 8. This happened after he sought medical attention close to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the incident occurred soon after the race, when he crossed the finish line at approximately 7 a.m., local time. According to the Los Angeles Times, after that Graves was seen holding his chest tightly.
Following this, a marathon volunteer noticed him and raced to save him just before he passed out. According to Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter, firefighters and rescue workers from Anaheim were on the scene right away and began administering life-saving care. Then after being swiftly taken to the neighboring Anaheim Global Medical Center, he was declared dead about an hour later.

Caleb Graves, a TikToker, worked as a producer, scriptwriter, director, and writer. He was raised in the small, rural town of Stephenville, in Texas, which is just a few hours west of Dallas.
With his well-followed TikTok profile, where he posted videos about Disney movies and parks, Graves amassed over 18,000 followers. He also enjoyed traveling, eating donuts, and running.
On July 10, he published his first poetry book, Love and Other Love. Caleb Graves was also a litigation associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's Century City office. He specialized in entertainment, intellectual property, and commercial litigation.
In addition to providing clients with legal advice, Caleb had experience in class action defense, breach of contract, securities fraud, copyright and trademark infringement, and other commercial litigation issues.
Sports goods, retail, energy, music, entertainment, the internet, and health care are just a few industries in which he defended his clients. In both federal and state courts around the country, Caleb had worked on cases at every stage of the legal process.
After graduating from law school, Caleb worked as a clerk for the Honorable Xavier Rodriguez in the Western District of Texas United States District Court.
Furthermore, he had already finished this year's Disney World half-marathon and full marathon. One day before he ran the Halloween Half Marathon, on September 7, he posted on his TikTok account about how hot it was in Southern California.
In the video, Caleb Graves stated that the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon, was the next day and he was starting to get a little nervous. This was due to the heat. It was approximately 90 degrees when he stepped outside at 2:00 pm.
He continued,
"And there are other places in the country that are obviously hotter [...] I grew up in Texas, I know what heat is. But the UV exposure with the heat in Southern California is it's own kind of beast.”
He further added,
"Anyway, I maybe have some susceptibility [...] temporary or long term to heat because I was outside for like 20 minutes walking my dog, walking around the block. it was hot but I felt fine.”
Caleb Graves further said that about 10 minutes after he returned home, he passed out from heat exhaustion. He had no control over his body and just fell asleep. This was the reason he was worried about his race the next day.
At the end of the course, Anaheim Fire & Rescue teams came to Graves' aid right away, said Sgt. Matt Sutter, a public relations officer for the Anaheim Police Department.
A representative for Disneyland Resort, Jessica Good, further stated in a statement to EW on September 8,
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Caleb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time."
Furthermore, despite the fact that the marathon weekend saw a temperature rise beyond 100 degrees, Sgt. Matt Sutter said that it's still unclear if the heat contributed to Caleb Graves' demise.
