Days before the 2024 U.S. presidential election, Donald Trump made an appearance at a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, claiming that his rallies were the biggest in history. The former president asserted:

"Every rally is full. There are no empty seats. You do not have any seats that are empty. You didn’t have anything"

However, just as the crowd began cheering Trump on his claims, a cameraman from NTD.com zoomed in on a section with multiple vacant seats and focused on people heading toward the exit section of the rally. The video of the former president getting fact-checked by a cameraman went viral and garnered a lot of attention from netizens.

Internet users took to X to express their opinions on the situation, wherein an X user praised the cameraman, tweeting:

"Some heroes have cameras 😭🤣"

Several netizens echoed similar sentiments and praised the cameraman for his actions.

"Another adult child of someone trump screwed over🤔 Sweet karma 💙🌊💙," an X user stated.
"I will buy the camera man a beer!" another X user mentioned.
"Protect that camera person at all costs!" an internet user said.
"How I WISH there was a single word that could convey my feeling of pleasure and joy that comes from witnessing someone else's suffering, failure and humiliation!!!!" another internet user commented.

Meanwhile, other internet users took digs at how the cameraman won't be invited to cover Trump's events after this incident.

"I’m guessing this camera man won’t be invited back," an X user tweeted.
"Someone is out of a job...," another X user said.
"Dear cameraman, Welcome to the resistance, Sincerely, 81 million Americans," an internet user commented.

"Where’s David? Is he around some place?"— Trump shouts out wrong candidate at North Carolina rally

Claiming that his rally had no empty seats while the reality contradicted his claims was not the only blunder Donald Trump made at his North Carolina rally. While talking about Republicans running in North Carolina, the former president mistakenly gave a shout-out to Pennsylvania's Grand Old Party (GOP) Senate candidate, Dave McCormick, stating:

“We have great Republicans running, and you have one of the best of all right here, David McCormick, you know that. Where’s David? Is he around some place?”

Realizing his mistake, the former president then told the rally attendees:

"You know, we just left him, he’s great guy."

Moreover, while it was the cameraman who fact-checked Trump's claim about the number of people attending his rallies, CNN debunked several claims made by the former president in a piece dated October 28, 2024. In the fact-checking article, CNN addressed the former president's claim that there were 101,000 people at his rally in Pennsylvania in October 2024.

However, CNN's affiliate KDKA in Pittsburgh reported that the Secret Service estimated the crowd at the former president's Pennsylvania rally to be 24,000 people. Additionally, James Ott, the sheriff of Blair County, Pennsylvania, mentioned during his speech at the same rally that he was addressing “21,000-plus people.”

On November 3, 2024, Kamala Harris' X account @KamalaHQ also reposted the NTD.com cameraman's video debunking Trump's claim about no empty seats at this North Carolina rally, stating that he was speaking to multiple sections that were entirely empty.
