The whole world will be tuning in on August 26, 2017, when Conor McGregor steps into the boxing ring for the first time in his career against the legendary Floyd Mayweather. While critics and experts alike have been quick to dismiss any chance of a victory for The Notorious One, there have also been quite a few major celebrities who have risen up in support of the Irishman.

There have been quite a few big names like Mike Tyson and Draymond Green who have come out in vocal support of the 49-0 Mayweather but not everyone believes it is a foregone conclusion. There are a number of high-profile men and women who have put their support behind the MMA fighter as he prepares to step into the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

So, just who are these illustrious men and women? Well, that's what we're here to find out. So, without any further ado, here is our list of the 5 biggest names who are supporting Conor McGregor in his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr:

#5 Becky Lynch

This one should hardly come as any surprise to fans of professional wrestling but Becky Lynch has firmly put her support behind Conor McGregor for the August 26th showdown against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

For the uninitiated, Becky hails from Ireland - the motherland of the Notorious One. And hence, it is hardly surprising that she's come out in full support of her countryman who will be looking to make history by becoming the first man to ever beat Money.

The Lasskicker is just one person from an entire nation that will be rooting for its most famous son to defy the odds and do the impossible. "The Irish aren't here to compete, we're here to take over." Conor will be hoping those words ring true in boxing after taking over MMA.

#4 Idris Elba

If you aren't familiar with the name Idris Elba, first of all, shame on you. Secondly, he is a famous British actor who has made a name for himself with movies like the upcoming Dark Tower, the Avengers, Thor, as well as TV shows like Luther and The Wire. He is a living legend of the business. Oh, and he's a semi-professional kickboxer who loves the fight game.

He has thrown his support firmly behind his Irish cousin, believing that Conor McGregor has more than a fighting chance in the upcoming encounter against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Here's what Elba had to say about McGregor's chances:

He’s gonna throw some things around that Floyd’s not going to be used to. If Floyd does what he does normally, which is just hold a tight fight, I think McGregor’s going to topple that, strike him. If he gets one on his chin, it could be over.

#3 Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg has become a massive movie star enjoying successes like The Departed and Ted coupled with terrible yet financially successful movies like the Transformers series and Ted 2. He's one of the top dogs in Hollywood and has thrown his support behind Conor McGregor.

Despite being an American, it probably has something to do with his Irish heritage considering he's a native of Boston which has a notoriously large number of people with Irish blood in them. It'll be interesting to see if he was able to pass on any tips he gained about the boxing business from his time making the movie The Fighter.

Here's what Wahlberg had to say about Conor's chances against Floyd Mayweather Jr:

But Conor, I think is a very different kind of fighter. I don’t think [Mayweather] has the power to knock out McGregor.

#2 Sylvester Stalone

No matter how anyone spins it, Conor McGregor is a massive underdog coming into this fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. So, when the man who played the role of the ultimate underdog for years on end says you have a shot, I think you have a shot. Sylvester Stalone — who made a name for himself playing the role of underdog boxer Rocky in the Rocky movies — has given Conor his support.

He firmly believes in The Notorious One and wasn't afraid of coming out and saying it publicly. He even compared McGregor to his legendary character saying:

I only got the underdog. [McGregor]'s a real life Rocky. But then again I live in fantasy. Mayweather's gonna get hurt.

It must be nice having that sort of endorsement.

#1 Stone Cold Steve Austin

That's right, The Texas Rattlesnake and one of the greatest professional wrestlers to ever lace on a pair of boots thinks that Conor McGregor will be coming out on top against Floyd Money Mayweather Jr come August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stone Cold Steve Austin had this to say about the fight and why he thinks The Notorious One will be coming out on top:

If Conor hits him, if Conor can tag that guy, he'll knock him into next week. I don't think Mayweather can hurt McGregor, he's (McGregor) tough as nails. It would be awesome to see Conor win that fight.
