All about Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series

What comes to mind when someone says Rock ‘n’ Roll? Music ? Dance? What about running? A marathon that has its’ very essence in Rock ‘n’ Roll? This marathon blends the thrill and excitement of a rock concert with the enthusiasm of running and has music bands performing at every mile along the course to celebrate the run!

The first Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon was held in 1998 in San Diego, California, and became hugely popular to spread to other cities in America and give birth to the Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon series. It is probably the world’s largest running series with a participation of more than 500,000 runners and visits more than 30 global cities annually in North America and Europe, including Las Vegas, Chicago, Nashville, Washington DC, Madrid, Liverpool and Mexico City.

Event Weekend

The most unique feature of the marathon is that it has multiple race categories, held on both Saturday and Sunday. This gives participants an option to run on either one or both days.

Post-Race Rock Concert

Every marathon ends with a finish line concert where the runners get into a post-race party with their friends and families, enjoying live rock performance featuring the biggest names in music, with past performers including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pitbull, Goo Goo Dolls, All-American Rejects, Flo-Rida, Train and Lady Antebellum.

Tour Pass

Running enthusiasts who wish to combine travel, running and entertainment, participate in multiple Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon events. They buy a Tour Pass to avoid separate registration for each event and avail one time discount on registration charges for all the events.

VIP Experience

Participants who wish to start their race day morning in their own private area, enjoy light breakfast items and coffee, private gear check, private restrooms, buy VIP package. This package also gives them the privilege to celebrate in VIP area with a catered brunch, VIP bar, massage, and more after the race.

Medals

Runners get recognized with medals depending on the combination of races that they choose to complete- Run for the Bling (complete races in multiple marathons) , Remix Challenge Medals ( participate in two days of running, in 1 weekend of the marathon), Limited Edition Medals( complete a specific combination of qualifying Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series events), Heavy Medals(finish two or more Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series events in a single calendar year) Hall of Fame(outstanding achievement of Heavy Medalists for the calendar year. Official Heavy Medalists will be inducted into the Hall of Fame once they have completed 15 qualifying distances on the 2015 Tour Stop schedule.).
