All you need to know about Police Cup at the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2014

The rules and regulations and information for runners participating in ‘Police Cup’ at the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2014:

About the Relay Race:

– Each team will comprise of 4 members; each member will be required to run approx. 10.5 km.

– Each runner will be timed using the Bib tag.

– Each team will get 1 baton. The baton has to be handed over to your next team member. Your team’s last runner has to cross the finish line with the baton in hand.

– While transferring the baton remember that both the runners should simultaneously cross the timing mat, so that the timing of the 1st runner and the next runner is captured.

– There will be 3 distance breaker points on the course between Start and Finish lines.

– Please ensure that each runner crosses all the timing split points which may come in their section of the run and which will be placed at different points on the road. The final member of each team must cross the finish line wearing his/her timing bib tag and carrying the team baton.

– The Event Promoters, Procam International, will arrange transportation to drop team members at their respective starting points. Similarly transportation from various distance breaker points back to the event venue, Azad Maidan, will be taken care of by the event Promoters.

– First member of each team who will commence the relay at the Start Line will be housed at the DHL Corporate champions Tent before the race starts.

– Post the run, all team members will be escorted to the DHL Corporate Champions tent inside Azad Maidan. Refreshment packets will be made available at the all DHL Corporate Champions tent.

– There is no facility for baggage storage for Police Cup participants.

– After finish, all participants have to report compulsorily at Azad Maidan in DHL Corporate Champions tent.

Gratification for Winning Team:

- A Rotating Trophy for the winning Team.

- Merit certificates and medals for team members of winning team.

- *Team prize money ­­­­­40,000.

Gratification for Runner-Up Team:

- Merit certificates and medals for team members of runners-up team.

- *Team prize Money ­­­­` ­20,000.

* prize money cheques will be issued on the name of the all winner team members.

In addition, the following points have to be noted:

- All team members must report at the time given on Race Day, Promoters will not be in a position to wait for a team member to proceed to various distance breakers along the route – the roads will start closing for traffic.

- Where any team member(s) reports on Race Day without the bib and/or the bib tag the entire team will not be allowed to participate.

- There can be no substitution in team members confirmed to participate – this will lead to disqualification of the team.

- Once the running order is finalized no change will be entertained.
