Gerbaba, Andersson win Stockholm Marathon

Stockholm - Ethiopia’s Shumi Gerbaba Eticha and Isabellah Andersson from Sweden won the men’s and women’s titles of the Stockholm Marathon respectively.

Gerbaba, who won the race in 2011, claimed first place in 2:16:13 Saturday. Stephen Chelimo from Kenya came second in 2:17:51.

Sweden’s Andersson won the women’s title for the fifth time in 2:33:49. She won the marathon for four consecutive years (2008-11). Halima Hassen Beriso from Ethiopia came second (2:41:57).

This year around 21,500 people participated in the 35th edition of the marathon.
