Runners at the 2014 edition of the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon

The 5th edition of the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon is due to be held in Hyderabad, India, on the 30th of August 2015.

Registrations:

Registrations for the marathon will close on the 16th of August, 2015. No spot registrations are permitted at the event.

Marathon Categories

The marathon has several categories, targeted at amateurs as well as seasoned runners.

On offer are the 3k, 5k, 10k, half- and full-marathon categories.

Where do I register?

All registrations are online at http://www.marathonhyderabad.com/inter_registration/. Users may click on the category they wish to register for.

Corporate category:

The corporate categories come with ideated and suggested fundraising goals, but companies are not obligated to follow these:

Both individual and corporate runners may run towards a cause represented on the list of charity partners provided by marathon organisers.

What facilities are available?

Racing aid

22 aid stations are located along the course approximately two kilometers apart. Each aid station consists of the following amenities in this order:

  • Medical Tent with access to a Runner Transport vehicle*
  • Water
  • Gatorade Energy Drink (lemon-lime or Orange flavor)
  • Bananas, Biscuits, Salt, Lime
  • Toilet facilities**
  • A Race Official or Lead Volunteer

* Runner Transport vehicles provide non-emergency transportation to the Finish Area in Gachibowli Stadium in the event that a participant is unable to complete the race.

** Toilet Facilities may be present at every other aid station.

Medical Facilities

The large team of doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals from Care Hospitals provide medical support for the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon. Medical staff will be available at 21 on-course locations (besides 20 aid stations. At the start and an additional medical station at the finish Stadium).

Medical Stations can be identified by the signs with the Red Cross symbol and will be at the beginning of an Aid Station. Each tent is equipped with a team of certified medical personnel, adequate emergency and first aid supplies. Ambulances will be available at strategic locations.

In the GMC Balayogi Stadium, after the Finish Area, the Main Medical Tent is located beyond the finish line within the stadium premises. An additional medical observation desk is located right after the Finish Line. There will also be a physio area in the finish area, where trained professionals will help you with stretching and massages if needed.

For the safety of all participants, only those requiring medical assistance will be allowed access into the medical tents.

Care Hospital Marathon Patient Connection Team

In the event a participant is transported to a local area hospital at the discretion of the medical team, the Care Hospital’s Patient Connection staff will be on hand in the GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli to provide information regarding that patient to family and friends.

Patient Connection staff can be found at the medical Information tent at the Finish Area as well as at the Stadium Medical Tent waiting area located outside the south-west entrance gate behind the bleachers.
