All you need to know about the Dream Runners Half Marathon Chennai

Runners at last year’s edition of the DRHM

The Dream Runners’ Half-Marathon will take place in Chennai tomorrow, and is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Athletics Association. It will be the 4th edition for the event, which was instituted in 2012.

The marathon started off as a group of fitness enthusiasts looking to begin road running. The founders describe it on their personal website as “ensuring treadmill citizens become road converts.”

Today, members of the organisation are regulars at all major marathons in India

The Dream Runners Half Marathon 2015, in association with the Freedom Trust will contribute prosthetic legs to amputees from the proceeds of this event.

How do I get there?

Venue: Olcott Memorial School (Opposite Rajaji Bhavan), No. 61, TNHB Main Rd, Besant Nagar, Chennai -90 – Map

Start Time for 21.1K: 5:00 AM

Start Time for 10K: 5:30 AM

Cut-off Time for the Event is 8:30 AM

Facilities available:

Aid Stations will be provided along the route – water, electrolyte, fruits, basic first-aid facilities Garbage Bins/Bag will be provided close to the aid stations – kindly dispose the trash in those bags. Medical facility and Emergency support will be provided covering the entire route.

Breakfast will be provided post-run at the Finish Area.

Baggage Counters will be available at the venue.

Expected weather:

The weather in Chennai tomorrow is hot as is standard for the city, but thunderstorms are expected through the day, so this may hamper runners’ progress and visibility.
