Bhubaneswar, July 29 (IANS) Wonder marathon boy Budhia Singh on Friday informed the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) at Khurdha that he would not return the state-run sports hostel in Bhubaneswar.

In a written communication to the CWC, Budhia said he doesn't want to return to the sports hostel as it lacks basic infrastructure and facilities for training.

He had earlier complained that he was not being treated properly in the hostel, where he was staying since 2007.

After returning from Mumbai on Wednesday, Budhia's mother Sukanti Singh had said her son would not return to the sports hostel. She had also sought help for private training of her son to improve his performance in running.

Earlier on Friday, the Police Commissionerate recorded the statement of Budhia Singh under Section 164 of CrPC before the Judicial Magistrate, First Class here.

Police had on Thursday recorded the statements of Budhia and his mother under Section 161 of the CrPC.

Police had registered a case of abduction following the complaint filed by the CWC as Budhia, who had gone on summer vacation on May 10 and was supposed to return to the hostel on June 7, did not turn up and went for a long vacation to outside the state.

Budhia had got into the Limca Book of Records as the world's youngest marathoner after running 65 km between Puri and Bhubaneswar non-stop in 2006 at the age of just four.
