Running is one of the best and convenient ways to stay fit. All one needs to do is lace up their shoes and step out of the house to enjoy a beautiful run. The only difficulty I face as I embark on my daily runs is getting the right partner for my run. And by partner, I don’t mean a running buddy as I am a solo runner, but the perfect shoes that ensure my runs go smoothly.
Due to my extensive workout routine, I go through shoes on a yearly basis. For this year, and I hope they last longer, I came across the Reebok Floatride.
Generally, I take about a week to settle into any new pair of shoes, but for this I was surprised how seamlessly it fit after just a couple of days. The unique foam cushioning that helped make the shoes extremely light (hence the name) helped massively in this swift change.
Reebok claims that their ‘Floatfoam’ helps improve performance over the standard EVA foam and although a week is a very less time to put that to the test, I could definitely feel a difference as it felt extremely light. It is said that the Floatfoam centres the foot during the gait cycle, resulting in a better heel-to-toe transition and an improved gait cycle efficiency – something that could turn to be a deal-clincher for Reebok.
For me, comfort is the biggest focal point when I look to buy new shoes and, I believe, the Reebok Floatride nailed it with the ultra-knit upper as there was not once in my run that I felt uncomfortable. The material used for the upper helped breathability, increased support and makes the shoe more flexible than the others I have used so far.
