Running for a Change

On September 9, 2013, on the gracious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the “Running for a Change” initiative was launched in Chennai. Running for a Change is an initiative to promote running as a catalyst for change in lifestyle, health & fitness, and for social causes.

Speaking on the initiative, M.Rajalingam, Founder of the “Running for a Change” initiative, said “The main objective behind this initiative is to promote running and encourage more people to take up running as a part of their lifestyle. We will be forming running groups in Chennai to achieve this objective. We will also be working on the social cause, by organizing running events and marathons in Chennai in the upcoming future to raise awareness and funds for charities. Our other focus will be on developing marathon runners from Chennai”

Under this initiative, Running for a Change will organise several running programs on weekends so they don’t affect their work schedule on week days. There will be also camps organized for improving the fitness levels, yoga, cross training programs and lecture cum workshops organized by inviting eminent persons to deliver lectures on various aspects of fitness, running and diet guidelines.

As a part of its social responsibility, Running for a Change will be organizing several running events with some social cause attached to each event. Running for a Change will be immediately organizing “Chennai Pink Run” a breast cancer awareness run in October in Chennai.

The Running for a Change team invites sponsors to facilitate the holistic development of running and the society.
