Defying gravity: The Skyscraper Dash Bengaluru

Bangalore is playing host to one of a kind event known as the Skyscraper Dash, where runners have to make it to the top of the World Trade Center in Bangalore. The WTC tower has a massive 30-story (850 stair!) tower, and is the tallest commercial building in the city.

The Skyscraper Dash is India’s tallest tower race. It is held in the tallest buildings in the country’s major metros, and participants have to climb the stairs to the top of the building. The venues range from the 52 story kohinoor square in Mumbai which is India’s tallest commercial building to the 32 story World Trade center which is the tallest commercial building in Bengaluru.

The main highlight of the event is the Everest Challenge where participants have to compete in teams and have to complete 69 descents and 70 ascents of the World Trade tower which is a true challenge.

The event has the following categories:

  1. The Dash

No Fuss. No slow miles. 31 floors, 850 stairs, a single sprint 150 metres to the base of the World Trade Centre and then right to the top!

  1. 2K + Dash

The most unique 2k run. The last 130 meters is a dead straight vertical ascent of the WTC, up 850 stairs, with the finish line at the rooftop!

  1. The Everest Challenge

This is a team event, in which groups have to complete 69 descents and 70 ascents of the World Trade Centre!
