Sourav Ganguly becomes the face of India’s Premier 25K Run

With formal registration opening today, the Red Road lies in restless impatience for the throbbing hearts and pulsating steps as Kolkata gears up for the third edition of Tata Steel Kolkata (TSK) 25K' on Sunday December 18.

With an aim to encourage everyone to participate and indulge in an active sporting lifestyle, the event includes five categories the 25K (Elite and Amateurs), Open 10K, Ananda Run (5 km), Senior Citizen’s Run (4 km), and Champions with Disability (4 km). The feature races 25K and the Open 10K Run are compulsorily timed race categories.

Face of the Event: Captain courageous, Prince of Kolkata and Bengal's very own Dada who gave the Indian team its swag and verve, one and only Sourav Ganguly has been roped in as the Face of the Event.

Sourav Ganguly, Face of the TSK 25K said, “Today, running is one of the fastest growing sport in the country and it is a proud moment for Kolkata to host India's Premier 25 K run, the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K. Running brings with it a sense of freedom, joy and confidence with every step and I am extremely happy to be a part of this running revolution.

Tata Steel 25K Kolkata is a positive step towards spreading the message of health and fitness and I urge the people of Kolkata to come out in huge numbers to support the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Peeyush Gupta, Vice President -- Steel (Marketing & Sales), Tata Steel, said: "Tata Steel is delighted to bring to the people of Kolkata the third edition of the Tata Steel Kolkata 25 km run (TSK25K), eastern India's most popular running event that has the 10 km run, Ananda Run for 6 km and the only place in the country to have a 25 km run.

“In addition to being a unique run, it is also an opportunity for us to strengthen our engagement with society and provide a platform to the community to support various philanthropic causes".
