After the phenomenal success of the inaugural Great LKI Run, that was held on 15th August, 2014, the organizers have returned with the second edition of The Great LKI Run on the 09th of March, 2014 held at the Leisure Valley Park, Gurgaon.
The event will be a time chipped one for the first time and runners from across the country are expected to participate. The race will involve both the 5k and the 10k runs and will kick off at 7:30am. This is a run that is being conducted for a charitable cause to help underprivileged senior citizens.
The event is organized by the LKI Sunehra Kal Foundation that is responsible for bringing value and striving for harmonious man-nature relationships. The event is also supported by Laser Ken IT Services India Private Limited which is a sheet metal company and Shri Madan Mohan Lal Khullar Dharmarth Sanstha which is a public charitable trust established with objectives of increasing awareness of support of under-privileged senior citizens and setting-up, running and maintenance of Old Age Homes.
The event has also managed to rope in Navbharat Times as their media partners who will be extensively covering their event. The event is expected to pull a large number of runners from various sectors joining hands together and running for a noble cause.
Former Indian Marathon runner and 1992 Asian Marathon champion, Sunita Godara also lent her support to the run. Sunita, who won her first national championship in 1984, also hold the record for running the maximum number of marathons for India. She was also conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award for her achievements. Here is a small video clip of Sunita expressing her thoughts about the event.
