For a considerable part during the course of the final, The 28-year-old Asian Games gold medalist fired several shots in the nine range but continued to remain hang on, falling outside the top 3 just once during the course of the final.

It was the other way round for Gurpreet though, who had to climb his way up to the top after being tied 5th at one point. Rai fired a combined tally of 177.6 to finish third in the overall group of 8 shooters while Gurpreet ended the final with a score of 197.6 to finish ahead of his fellow countrymen.
