Indian shooter Rahi Sarnobat wins World cup gold in 25m pistol shooting event

Rahi Sarnobat has made her country proud after she beat Kyeongae Kim 8-6 in 25m pistol final in the World Cup. She is the first pistol shooter from India to win a World Cup Gold.

The 22-year-old athlete from Kolhapur had earlier qualified with a score of 584/600 booking her place in the final four. Rahi entered the final match against Korea’s Kyeongae Kim after winning a shoot-off in the semis.

Rahi won the race to 7 points in a mouth-watering final to win her first Gold which is the biggest medal of her career. She joins the club of shooters who have won World Cup gold for India and holds the record of being the first Indian to win a World Cup gold in the 25m pistol event.
