Suma Shirur wins silver in Inter-shoot Annual International Shooting Championship in Netherlands

Former World record holder Suma Shirur won Silver in Inter-shoot annual International Shooting Championship for Air Pistol and Air Rifle.

She got the second place with a gritty finish in 10 m air rifle at the Inter-Shoot where she scored 203 points in the finals. Even after a not so perfect qualifying score of 409.9, she made up with a spirited finals finish behind Jennifer McIntosh in a closely fought 20-shot final series.

Suma Shirur said” It's been a good boost of confidence for the beginning of the season and glad to won Silver at Inter-shoot annual International Shooting Championship for Air Pistol and Air Rifle.”

Shirur came into international limelight after winning indivudual and team medals at the 2002 Busan Asian Games and the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. She created the world record in the Asian Athletics championships in 2004 after scoring a maximum of 400 points. She also won bronze at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games.
