Thakur Anoop Singh is second Indian after Manohar Aich to win the title of ‘Mr. World’Indian bodybuilder Thakur Anoop Singh has won gold medal at the World Bodybuilding Championship in Thailand. The title of ‘Mr. World’ has also been awarded to him. After Manohar Aich, Singh is the second bodybuilder from India to win this coveted title.The 25-year-old is not famous for only bodybuilding. He has acted in a popular television series, is a trained pilot and loves dogs. Here are five facts you must know about this champion.

In 2013, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) included Thakur Anoop Singh’s name in the prestigious FAA Airmen Certification Database. However, he had to choose acting over flying due to circumstances. In a 2014 interview with Tellychakkar.com he had said, “When recession took over the world, the airline sector was badly hurt. I just had to be sure that whatever I chose to do next, I needed to surrender myself to it and enjoy doing it. This attitude worked wonders for me when I got a beautiful platform like Mahabharat to get into acting. Having said this, I am still a pilot holding a current Pilot license.”

Anoop Singh played the role of Dhritarashtra in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's 2013 television series ‘Mahabharat’. The young actor considers this opportunity as a life changing experience. He had told Tellychakkar.com, “Mahabharat has been a life changing experience for me indeed. It is crazy and amazing at the same time when even kids as small as six years old recognize me as Dhritarashtra when they see me walking with long hair. I believe that with recognition comes certain responsibilities and I am busy fulfilling that.”

#3 Bronze Medal at Asian Bodybuilding and Physique 2015

The 25-year-old Anoop Singh won Bronze in Men’s Fitness Physique (Senior) category at 49th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique 2015 held in Tashkent. This year the Indian team gave its best performance ever in this Championship. In Men’s Bodybuilding section, Moirangthem Robi and Arambam Boby Singh won gold medals Yumnam Mamota won gold in Women’s Bodybuilding section. The Indian team won 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 5 bronze medals in total.

#4 Runner-up of Fit Factor at Body Power India

Thakur Anoop Singh was the runner-up in this year’s Fit Factor at Body Power India Expo held in March. It was the second appearance of UK’s largest fitness expo in India. The parameters for participating models were 50% physique and 50% ‘Fit Factor’. Fitness industry experts and top models judged this competition.

While Anoop Singh was the runner-up in Men’s category, Pranav Dilip Shelatkar was the winner and Updesh Singh Saluja was the second runner-up.

#5 An avid dog lover

Anoop Singh is a dog lover and apart from being attached to few NGOs who works for stray dogs, he provides food to stray dogs near his society. Talking about his love for dogs he had told The Times Of India, “Dogs gives you unlimited love and in any condition. Nowadays when I am away from home half of the time he will just jump on me whenever he greets me and will lick me.” He also owns a Great Dane whom he has named Oscar.
