Pakistan are all in readiness for the start of their very own high-profile domestic T20 tournament in the form of the Pakistan Super League. #1 Usama Mir (Karachi Kings)

One of the most interesting inclusions made by the Karachi Kings franchise in their squad has been leg spinner Usama Mir. The 20-year old has made quite an impression in Pakistan’s domestic T20 circuit and could go on to become a star in the upcoming Pakistan Super League.

Leggies have been quite in demand in T20 leagues all over the world and this serves well for young Mir. As far as his T20 record goes, Usama Mir has picked up 15 wickets in an equal number of matches at an average of 19.80 and an outstanding economy rate of 6.31.

#2 Kamran Ghulam (Islamabad United)

Ghulam so far has 15 T20 wickets and 118 runs to his name.

Islamabad United have picked young Kamran Ghulam to add more value to their already powerful line-up of allrounders which includes the likes of Shane Watson and Andre Russell. Ghulam is a hard-hitting batsman and left-arm spinner and was a part of the Pakistan Under-19 team a few years ago.

The 20-year old has played 11 T20 matches thus far and has claimed 15 wickets at an average of just over 15. The best figures he has recorded so far are 4 for 11 and his economy rate has been below 7. As a batsman, Kamran Ghulam has scored 118 runs at a rollicking strike rate of 168.57.

The youngster is one of the most exciting prospects in the PSL roster and could make a name for himself.

#3 Naved Yasin (Lahore Qalandars)

Yasin has a tally of 892 runs from 43 T20 matches at 31.85

Naved Yasin has been playing domestic cricket in Pakistan for quite a few years now and has been roped in by the Lahore Qalandars franchise for the PSL. A left-handed batsman by trade, Yasin has been a consistent performer in the domestic T20 cricuit.

The 28-year old has played 45 T20 matches so far in his career and scored 892 runs at a very decent average of 31.85 and an impressive strike rate of over 127. Yasin also bowls occasional left-arm spin and has best figures of 4 for 17 in T20 cricket.

Doing well in the PSL will certainly help Naved Yasin make himself more visible to the national selectors and may earn him a place in the Pakistan team.

#4 Hasan Ali (Peshawar Zalmi)

Part of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise in the PSL, medium-pacer Hasan Ali is surely one of the local players to watch out for. The 21-year old has performed well across formats in Pakistan’s domestic cricket and has been particularly impressive in T20s.

In 11 matches that he has played so far, Ali has picked up 15 wickets at a terrific average of 17.06 and strike rate of marginally over 15. His economy rate has been well below 7 and he has best figures of 4 for 11 in a T20 match.

The PSL serves as a perfect platform for Hasan Ali to put his skills on display to a greater audience.

#5 Rumman Raees (Islamabad United)

The 24-year old has 42 wickets in 36 games

Young left-arm paceman Rumman Raees is one of the most exciting young talents in Pakistan’s domestic circuit at the moment. His impressive performances may not have won him a place in the national side, but 24-year old Raees has certainly bagged a deal with the Islamabad United franchise in the PSL.

The youngster is known to have lively pace and can clock 140 plus speeds on a consistent basis. Raees’ domestic T20 record makes a good reading as he has bagged 42 wickets in 36 games so far at an average of a bit over 23. The economy has also been decent at 7.14 and he has best figures of 3 for 26.

A shining performance in the PSL will not only make Rumman Raees a star, but will also help him come into national contention.
